Culturally Responsive Care

Asian American families: duty, boundaries, and belonging.

These articles are written for Asian American adults who love their families and still need room to live their own lives. They cover the questions that come up most in our sessions: how to set boundaries with parents without cutting them off, what changes after marriage, and how to carry duty without being crushed by it.

None of them ask you to choose between your culture and your well-being. Filial responsibility, interdependence, and respect for elders are treated as values, not problems. The work is deciding what you want to carry forward, and what you want to change.

In plain language

These articles are for Asian American adults. They are about family duty, parents, marriage, and boundaries. They do not ask you to leave your family or your culture behind.
